Loving With All These Things Poem by J.M. Española

Loving With All These Things

I dreamed of love and hate combined
and wished that only love were mine,
but then again, how wrong i was,
for one cannot be where the other is not.

I dreamed of love, but without the pain,
But 'fore i knew it, my soul was maimed,
For love shows itself most after when
Hurt has lived well in the hearts of men.

I dreamed of love, without honesty,
Of love with no strings, with no fidelity
But what does love mean, if one cannot be,
Faithful to the other, and live happily?

Then I knew for sure, that love and these things,
For all of the pains and happiness they bring,
Are inseparable, so I learned to agree,
To love and be loved, i just have to let myself be.
