Loyalty Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Loyalty

Loyalty

Three men
-light-weight now after months in dungeons
-saw the light after long with hands tied
-dragged were, now faced down
-were forced eating dust.

Stood men in circle
-all Pashto; but few!

Elephant out of room
-under sun of the day
-in its midst; horizon.

Vast, endless the sky
-in the shades of blue
-colorless around sun.

Wheat golden and farms rich
-with waving straws; comb, breeze
-to nature's nice-long hair
-is running; wild, free…

Everyone hose nearby
-of ancient Kandahar
-is aware
-open is the secret
-and what boils in kitchen.

-fuzzy and bearded are nomads; devoted
-to serving Ahmad Shah Dorrani.
- (who himself used to serve Nader Shah
-when too young, till death of his master;
-and as King's key-holder to Royal-Treasures.)

No one knows who and why killed Nader
-Possibly key-holder… (now, a king and leader)
-In command, he calls the elephant trainer:
- "Have the beast step on victims' heads."

This is how always act dictators…
-from there come "Today's-Taliban"
