Lull After Life's Storms Poem by Dr John Celes

Lull After Life's Storms

When I have spent a night so dark,
With heart afilled with anguish, fear,
And when the dawn sings like a lark,
I think of Christ, Lord, Savior dear!

The world is full of hatred much,
And people do such heinous crimes,
The victims yearn for Midas' touch,
From Jesus Christ and change the climes.

Yet, when my troubles sooner cease,
My sinfulness returns slowly,
And when lessens my mental peace,
I pray to God more fervently.

Ingratitude lurks in my heart,
When blessings, grace of God has rained;
With finesse tempter plays his art,
As faith in God looks almost drained.

Almighty God, I am sorry,
For sins that hurt your holiness;
Please free me from every worry,
And bestow me your forgiveness.
