Luna 2
Circa 1959—
Luna 1 spacecraft launched
and becoming the first to leave
geocentric orbit;
It was designed to impact the moon
but failed to collide with it.
Thus Luna 2 spacecraft was created;
Cemented in history by committing
its goal as it was created:
On September 13,1959—
A victory to the Soviet Union—
Luna 2 was the first spacecraft to
successfully reach the Moon.
