Lunar Hospice Poem by Andrew Dabar

Lunar Hospice

Cadmium air
Gray wash sky
Watercolor moon
Opaque smudge on the darkening canvas of approaching night
A lightning bug that is crushed and smeared
Between the deckled edges of Houston
Luciferin
For a moment
Bleeding bright
Not quite yellow
Not quite white
Neither near nor far
Dying in God's great big mason jar
