Lust
I think I may sink in your eyes
if you don`t hold me
Do you have any dark sides
that you want to show me?
My thoughts are so messed up
because when you cheer me up
I`m in another reality
where only you and I exist
And I wish only for this
Constantly you in my mind
Watching our memories on rewind
we-lying together in one bed
and my cheeks turning red
I`m saying goodbye
Thoughts about you will always make me smile
I`ll miss you
Thinking how I couldn`t kiss you.
You can initially dismiss this as yet another somewhat adolescent poem inspired by that feeling that poet’s tend to presume is ‘love’ but cynics are ready to dismiss as simply ‘infatuation’, but the ending gives it another twist and makes it worth a second reading. Well done.
