I saw a feather on the ground today.
It had the shadings
Of Your royalty,
Varying tones of blue,
And you sprang to my mind
Like flowing water.

Like you meant to leave
It here, a reminder
Of my love for you,
Wings that have
Taken their flight and
Found their rest deep within.

The single token of
Your devotion -
A way to let me
Know of your heart,
How your thoughts light
My sky every day.

It picks up in the
Gentle wind and floats,
Like every whisper
Of our romance,
Every thought and prayer I
Have ever had of you.

The squirrels ignore it,
Other birds avoid it,
But my hand reaches
Like a starving man
Paws for the last
Slice of bread to save his soul.

You are never far from me
My precious love,
Even when the
Leagues of sadness divide us.
Your message is taken by our
Universe and binds us together.

I will fly.
I will take the wings you
Have given me and
Bring my broken self to
Your side.
