Maebel W/2 E’s Poem by Luke Easter

Maebel W/2 E’s

Ah what has love in common with likewise hate?
Is it possible both at the same time can be fate?
Which one is given, which one would you take?
Can we be oceans apart and still be shipmates?

Oh drifted thoughts, drenched with confusion,
Am I naked from within by an optical illusion?
Patiently removing waves that can’t be bought,
Dry sandy beachhead rupturing each thought.

Evaporating quickly, a heated sun, I must float,
Fear of drowning eagerly pounding the remote,
Examining each well from the depth of the sea,
Wet melodious musical ebb tide I claim victory.

Her feminine name comes to mind I’d lovingly tell,
With not 1 one but 2 E’s, the rarely heard Maebel,
She calms the waters as even sharks slow down,
An unsolved mystery for sleuths in my hometown.

Truly there is a cloud of clear vapor or just maybe,
The judgment’s waiting unfairly because it’s hasty,
Or in my mind nothing is dark, as it seems tonight,
Might decisions only be made in the clear of light?

Or will the darkness of the hurricane season hide?
The tornado over filled with power beaming pride,
Hot to run for your life seeking shelter from inside?
Who lives forever nature asks soon they all will die.

Is this an age-old thriller or a modern day mystery?
Might the hero again remake the ending of history?
Or can the concerto dupe the concert once again?
Only Emu knows but she won’t tell, she’s a friend.

That novel begins to unravel, what have you got?
Thrown or did I jump from the safety of my yacht?
Oh where is your final destiny now heaven or hell?
Don’t know about you, I trust in the love of Maebel.
