Make Me A Spirit, Night Poem by Emmanuel George Cefai

Make Me A Spirit, Night

Make me a Spirit, Night
That flying high
By the cathedral spire
I draw nigh.

Let the chill airs of
Dark
Not cruel be
As I draw nigh
And stay.

And
When first trimmings of the Dawn
Appear
I shall go down to home and sleep
And dreams of the cathedral spire
