Make Me Your Safety Pin Poem by Namita Rani Panda

Make Me Your Safety Pin

I prefer to be a safety pin
to dangle from your pretty bangle,
to kiss repeatedly your soft skin
when you work/rest my loveliest angel.

I'll set your saree's pleats
to make you look smart and beautiful,
to your buttonless gown I'll hold tight
And can temporarily mend your unfaithful chappal.

I'll conceal every hole in your life
And give first aid to that needs immediate repair,
I'll serve you honestly my lovely life
As a servant I'll be extremely sincere.

I can be an effective weapon
when someone troubles you from under the seat
I can teach him a good lesson
by pricking his toes as the best treat.

I'll wait for the chance to dangle from your chain
or to adorn with badges your proud chest
to feel your warmth, the cherished satisfaction
and listen to the rhythm of your sweet heart.
