Make of yourself wiser and wiser...
..before you complete your life on earth;
I think of this every morning as the sun rises...
...and tears off the black clouds of night;
And sends out the first rays of its light to tell:
That darkness is followed by enlightenment;
That sleep in ignorance is followed by awareness.

An old man, I lay down at the crossing between...
...the present and future life;
I sit silent without caring for the past or future...
...knowing that I am living my final hours;
The light of guidance is burning inside me;
It thickens and spreads over my heart and mind.

In the constant zikr, I sit and bend forward to listen...
...the sound of the mysterious zikr;
Even before the singing birds get out of their nests...
...to sing their songs of love on boughs and in bushes...
...I am touched everywhere by the ocean of musical waves;

No doubt the thought of things that have happened...
...in my past life...
...I feel have totally erased from the slate of my mind;
I feel instead the divine fire is blazing inside myself...
...like a million flowers on fire;
I'm in an ecstatic state and feel myself turning...
...into something of inexplicable value;
I do not feel for any loss or gain in my life at this hour.

With thanks, beneath the branches of divine mercy and love...
...I raise my head with contentment and satisfaction,
And I look into the peaceful and serene face of my old age.
Alhamdulillah! Mashallah!
