Makeover Poem by Augusta Mendelsohn

Makeover

This New Year
I'm writing a new page on fresh snow.
I hereby promise:
To take a refreshing course
In emotional intelligence.
To respect illusions and hopes
They nourish the soul.
To let some go when the time is ripe.
To learn to accept defeat
And heartbreak, and boredom.
To fly away to a land
Brimming with history and beauty and ideas.
