Making Due Poem by David Thomas

Making Due

It's been months
i've written letters that
amongst other things i shall never send,
in time maybe we'll talk again
but so far it's been prolonged
and as we grow apart
my delving deepens,
my emotions are rampant
and those things you feared so greatly
come truer and truer everyday
i hope you're well
since you've departed
life has darkened and life
has all but fallen apart...
still, life goes on
these two feet will walk
one day will they run
and i shall climb those ladders
that i used to know so well
