For all the times you stood by us,
For the gentle but firm words of correction,
For the pride you always felt when we did good,
We hope you also felt our gratitude.
There were times you thought that we took you for granted,
You never knew in our hearts you never vanished,
We learned to love and to forgive by your example,
Your patience and guidance never wavered.
You were the binding force in the family,
Keeping us together despite the odds and pains,
The mediator in every conflict,
The spokesperson when our words fail.
In your years of pain and sickness,
We are sorry we never spared
more time than we should have,
We will always grieve for those moments
when we could still hug you and talk to you endlessly.
Now that you’re no longer here,
We surely miss you and the pain would always stay,
Death will never succeed in separating us.
We love you even until life after death!
