Mamacita Poem by Alfred Ramos

Mamacita

Mamacita, I scratched our names in the sand
Then out of no where came this hand
Erased everything and washed it out to sea
Mamacita, I don't know what is happening to me
Then a strong wind whipped my hair into my eyes
For a short time I couldn't see the darkened skies
Without warning I was soaked to the bone
Mamacita, why do I feel so all alone
Mamacita, when will I be free
From this pain and misery
You always kept me in line
Promised to never leave me behind
Save me from this hurricane of a life
That's tearing and cutting me like a knife
Mamacita, you never turned away
You were there when I went out to play
Mamacita, help me pray
That tomorrow will be a better day
