</>Puberty in tandem without a plan: ‘Gotta have it’
Don’t believe that’s possible for a strange
Kid like me
Testosterone is tracking my every step, without help
For fending off those wanted/unwanted assaults
From lads, dads, mates and strangers getting
Familiar
Higher education for what? I can’t make a fist.
Can’t make a plan. Can make out, but what’s
The future in that?
The notion that ‘if it doesn’t work, exit stage left'
Doesn’t compute beyond ‘relationships’
Those ‘life’ decisions are not ours to make
And if we do, ain’t no sunshine where we’re goin
Meantime, the man without a plan
Keeps on keeping on
Going or staying because ‘it’ feels right
Playing or praying depending upon the mood
Indigo, scarlet, yellow, black or white
Then the final flight
To the next confrontation of souls
Locked up with certified crazies
Realization that I’m not one yet
And healing, at any cost
Without hesitation
Without a plan
