Manhood Poem

what does it mean to be a man is it to
know when the back down and when to be
strong and stand there standing by your
partner never be disloyal not to run
away like a child when things start to
boil any sperm donor can be a dad but it
takes a man to be a father someone who
sees their kids as a blessing
and not a bother my dad taught me that a
real man talks to his problems a man can
lean on his partner when he needs help
to solve them a real man puts himself
aside when he and does what's best for
his fam whether it be working all day
and night when you gotta hurt another
man not to be some macho hyper-masculine
tool a man doesn't make the mistakes of
a common fool a man recognizes went to
play a part sometimes home holding his
woman's purse or maybe pushing a
shopping cart my dad told me that no
matter what take care of your mom and
your sister work as much as much as it
takes until you get booze and blisters
the reality is our parents won't always
be around so we must respect what they
wish I told my dad I'll make you proud
with everything I will accomplish anyone
can talk about being a man it's your
action that define who you are my
fraternity believes and manly Dean's
because they will take you so far a man
should be able to cry and maintain his
respect showing emotion isn't weakness
those words should never connect saying
I love you to your woman is a
rare act these days it's like the phrase
is blacklisted if you say it you will
pay when I meet that girl I will say a
passionate and my from the start baby i
love you from the bottom of my heart
what will I teach my kids when that day
finally comes will they know that father
or while I make like a coward and run
you can be damn sure my kids will call
me Dad father and sir imma be there not
shake off like some animal forever
everyone has a definition of what it
means to be a man I guess something
comes down to it a man can only give a
hundred percent as long as you can I'm
gonna live my life and take the lessons
I've been taught from today on or until
the grave that I drop
