Many, Haiku Poem by Mark. A Heathcote

Many, Haiku

I, ll send you flowers
pink peonies to fill a vase
just one will do

*

topiary
you can carry on cloud pruning
I'll take the roots

*

separation
carry on cloud pruning
I'll take the roots

*

give me love seeds
poppies or love-in-the-mist
and forget-me-nots

*

wear an opening
red peony behind your ear
we'll bloom together

*

spring, late afternoon
snow is threatening to fall
then nothing at all...

*

keep your silence
bite your tongue if you must
razor clam

*

pour some salt into
a keyhole, and up they pop
razor clams

*
late afternoon siesta
then time for another dip
before my flight

*

late afternoon run,
my heart out of breath, panting,
taking in the view

*

late afternoon
school gates are quietly closing
standstill traffic

*

unexpected waves
can come any time and place
get out the paddles

*

territorial
robins squabble terribly
until they don't

*

a piebald raven
looks out over the spring snow;
a kinship follows

*

first building blocks:
the Earth, the moon, the stars
and the universe

*

house martins are
building their nests in cow barns
loft apartments

*

carousel dreams
spinning round and round
getting nowhere fast

*

house disapproval
layer upon layer, and
all the walls collapse

*

even in movement
there's reactionary stillness
in a whirlpool

*

What confines you?
isn't yesterday or tomorrow;
it's being present.

*

a still leaf
houses a tranquil forest
on a calm day

*

Buildings shoulder
to shoulder block out the sun,
promising better days

*

buildings shout,
'toil in the dirt; tomorrow
you too can retire.'

*

Baby Rubber Plant
once popular everywhere
not so much now

*

Baby's-breath
cloud like clusters fitting of
a wedding dress

*

baby steps in a-
new job looking for that left
handed screwdriver

*

inner church, the soul
the heart of spirituality
is everywhere

*

love whispers
across the entire universe
See more

*

there are no secrets
between what is right and wrong
bitter and divine

*

expand my blossom
into a magnolia tree
give me yellow suns

*

have all your tears
woke the monsoon gods the-
heavens have opened

*

was it a gesture
her blood turned white blooms red
Where's the first aid box?

*

something's you can't plan
opportunity knocks when
you least expect it

*

prussian blue skies
darling, how many stars
did you count? … just two

*

ah, evening song
a throbbing chorus
crickets vs nightingales

*

Puccini's humming
chorus—Madama Butterfly
genius just is...

*

cherry blossom
floats on the rocking chair seat
emotions tilting

*

prussian blue waves
boats like buoyant toys
your destiny, who knows?

*

search for me
beneath this old dust jacket
there you'll find a rose

*

each Valentine's Day
plant me a young sapling tree
place them heart-shaped.

*

let's skip breakfast
We'll dine out alfresco
by the fishing hut

*

delicious breakfast
let me help you with those dishes
next time, paper plates

*

let's have breakfast
how do you like your eggs?
mine—sunny side up

*

meet me for breakfast
let's feast on the next sunrise
you've beautiful eyes

*

breakfast is served
but let's warm up the bedsheets
some hungers can't fast

*

rashers of bacon—
sun has made an omelet
autumnal breakfast

*

a midnight rally
bats swooping across the skies
how their hunger grows

*

the road ahead holds
no prison bars around me
shadows and moon

*

the road ahead holds
no prison bars around me
shades of moonlight

*

mild hangover
waking next to a stranger
naked and entangled

*

mixed weather reports
lightning and rainbows
romantic entanglements

*

mixed weather
lightning and rainbows
the story of love

*

God sends a letter
a message from above
sunshine and flowers

*

hearing this softness
opens locks I never knew
were bolted closed

*

independence
it vanishes like a bloom
give me thorns to climb

*

windsock—once again
again—away you go
with your loose tongue

*

withered memories
the seeds of yesterday
remind us to grow

*

it's more auspicious
with each anniversary
booked getaway…

*

whistling songbird
far away in an icy vault
green brackens unfurl

*

let's catch a rainbow
and travel far away
infantile dreams

*

let's catch a rainbow
and travel beyond the moon
far — far — far away

*

frutillas
only snake in the grasses
I can appreciate

*

frutillas
out of hibernation
snakes I warm too

*

snake head frutillas
the only snake in the ground
to warm my heart

*

intoxication
gale-force winds are blowing
no direction home
