March is the Month of Expectation - Poem by Emily Dickinson

March is the Month of Expectation.
The things we do not know -
The Persons of prognostication
Are coming now -
We try to show becoming firmness -
But pompous Joy
Betrays us, as his first Betrothal
Betrays a Boy.

Fantastic flight of imagery of the great poetess is evident in each line of the great poem. Enjoyed the twist as his first Betrothal Betrays a Boy. Thanks for sharing it on PH. (Report) Reply
