Marriage Ruined Poem by Ridge Dillard

Marriage Ruined

Marriage Ruined
Butcher knife to the abusive husband

Thought he was in charge

found out he wasn’t

Plus the roast burned in the oven

Set aflame their home and the frame

They viewed their perspective through

Slit wrists for the widowed killer

As crumbling embers

burned from without then within her

Exposing her innards

Then ashes

Hours before Firemen splashed the burning Mansion

It wasn’t worth the action

The fatal lovers were buried side by side

Their story lost to murder and the sands of time
