Married To A Memory Poem by Falling Awake

Married To A Memory

Rating: 5.0

Not moving on or away,
Time passes- it elapses,
And I'm moving forward-
with no timeline,
No regulation,
To outline this grief.

While me and you
Remain cemented in place,
Like the borders of your tomb,
I may not end up forever yours,
As new bonds strengthen.

Is it the loneliness,
Or was there less love
than thought between us
That's allowing
life to progress?

Distance deepens,
Time and space
Wedge between us
And I struggle to
Realize I'm married
To a memory.

the title lures in the curious soul, present past wrestle in time tide locked memories, borders of a tomb still shadow reality, yet even solid concrete can time crack; an exceptional poem
