Falling Awake

Falling Awake Poems

Rough manly lines and a stark striking blue
Jump out against the season's moody sky
Tracing your depths, my flesh colored anew
I'm jolted from sleep inside my mind's eye
...

2.

A white fine toothed comb
Runs through my being
Neuron knots de-conditioning
Liberating, freeing
...

Not moving on or away,
Time passes- it elapses,
And I'm moving forward-
with no timeline,
...

Ears perked at every
meeting of tire to gravel
My neck extends out
Like a desperate dog
...

This change in gravitation,
From my centerpiece dying,
Has me spinning in rotation,
But I'm still hanging on trying.
...

6.

A response to stress,
I'm a nervous mess,
And, I just don't know
what to do with my hands.
...

Four years elapsed,
Since the world collapsed,
And I still can't delete it,
Delete it from my head.
...

I'm still rooted, anchored down
Admittedly, sipping on past sorrow…
Yet, I sense a calling for realization
So, wherever the sun arcs… I follow
...

Wasting my time,
on the borderline, empty,
I reach for the next second.
...

Muffled echoes of your voice,
Fall shy of my ear's drum,
While your coldening flesh,
Remains just out of reach,
...

I attempt my ascent,
but a constant resistance
to my movements
is forcing me back,
...

If I could transcribe behind your eyes,
I'd see the times they've sunk and cried,
The shadows of pain you've held inside,
And all the needs you've been denied.
...

What's left of your taste is fading,
And, with a mouthful left to say,
I'm left dehydrating and thirsting,
Unable to swallow your memory.
...

I'm coasting through my life,
Many chances unseen,
Perfection or failure-
I know nothing between.
...

The wind still whispers your name,
I strain for messages it may contain,
But you're dead and gone, all the same,
Still, the wind whispers your name.
...

Frozen in stagnancy,
The steel blanket hovers,
Looming across my sky.
...

With my tires crunching below,
I find the ground passes so fast,
Appearing smooth under my board.
We carve through colored canopies,
...

Eyelids peel away
Pupils enlarge
Neural synapses open
...

19.

In just one split of an instant
Life force entirely withdrew
With your vitality vanished
I find myself severed in two
...

Bending towards the sun,
my wildflowers open,
and my fruits sweetly ripen.
The sunlight on my garden looks nice,
...

The Best Poem Of Falling Awake

Loving You In Winter

Rough manly lines and a stark striking blue
Jump out against the season's moody sky
Tracing your depths, my flesh colored anew
I'm jolted from sleep inside my mind's eye

Coaxed out winter's cloud, you enhance my hues
With vibrant layers cutting through the haze
Painting my world, Reframing all my views
Emptiness takes form as you shape the grays

Without you to sculpt some texture for me
I'd be consumed by the season's bleakness
Or I'd wash away in my flattened sea
But you save me, dripping with uniqueness

My vitality until I'm thawed through
I'll love you spring, summer, and fall too
