Mask Poem by Anas Khan

Mask

Rating: 3.5

In a heart where loathing dwells,
Where games are played so sly,
Who has come and who foretells,
And when will truth outvie?

If the light within won't glow,
And desire's cruel decree,
Your golden morning will forego,
A prisoner of sleep's decree.

Let hope ignite a blazing fire,
Within your darkened heart,
Let love be what you aspire,
And dreams will never fall apart.

So cast aside the games you've played,
And let your heart be true,
For in this world, a brighter shade,
Will be revealed to you.
