May I Poem by Rik Bertrand

May I

May I embrace the thought of angels in our midst, May I?
I have closed my eyes and envisioned the beauty, and I sigh,
Would you think differently of me in my time of need?
Would you look down upon me if I took the angels lead?

There are times in life when I need to look upon true fate,
See the angels wings spread out, completely and profoundly ornate.
I want to feel the love and the warm embrace of Gods true light,
So that I can know that life is real and that all is forthright.

May I? May I bow down and look upon the angel as a sign?
May I smile upon her and let her know that she is divine?
I think I shall, for I feel the warmth of her soul entwining my heart,
And I know now that of me, she is now a part.

My angel, my angel of heart, my angel of love, we are as one,
We are as one but we are apart, for I see you there in the shadows of the sun.
You're beautiful, you are warm, and you soothe my wounded soul,
You are my protector, my guardian, and you keep me in control.
