May This Year Be! Poem by Robert Edgar Burns

May This Year Be!

May your New Year be happy
Even more than what’s passed.
With the true joy of living
Bringing happy tears in each laugh.

May no ships in your harbor
Mean the fishing is grand.
And all snow covered benches
Share their parks with snowmen!

May calm waters so peaceful
As your valley’s decry,
Reflect a calm portrait
Of great peace in your life!

May your apothecary and storeroom
All have ample supplies,
And be filled to overflowing,
Let God’s Grace be your guide!

For all these things and more
May Providence also, give me.
So hear our prayers and answer,
Lord, May This Year BE!
