May You Never Know Poem by Lynnie Kim

May You Never Know

Forget it, let it go.
Compel youself,
don’t let anyone know.
Maybe this way,
it could be forever.
But …
I don’t know,
and I can’t see.
Just need you near me,
my heart can’t set you free.

I cannot bear that
you have anyone else but me.
I know that I know
we could never be but
I just can’t accept this reality
One day,
you’ll be far from me.
And all I’ll be left with
is your memory.

I hope this memory
fades with time.
‘coz up till now
I really can’t cope
with the hope
that maybe
you could be mine.

Friends I hope, futile as it be.
I can’t hurt the ones
nearest me.
So I have to, I really do,
kill my heart and set you free

May you never know and always be
happy and free … away from me.
