Maybe Poem by Carrie Kath

Maybe

I talk to you on the phone
& you're always asking 'what's wrong'
I see you once in a while
although my expressions are dulled
you still make my heart smile

Jealousy is amongst the two of us
& you know there'll never be another you & me
and you said to me 'if you ever need me, you can call'
because that's what friends are for, after all

and I smile, on the inside and out
because I know i'm gonna be alright
in my mind and heart, there's no doubt

If i can't be with you, then I'll accept being your friend
just remember, I mean it, when I say i'll be there til the end

I love you & I know you're always thinking of me
maybe we're just not meant to be
but maybe this is how it's supposed to be

Love always,
me.
