Maybe You Were Right / Maybe I'Ll Survive Poem by Vince Davis

Maybe You Were Right / Maybe I'Ll Survive

Rating: 3.5

Maybe you were right to let me out of your life
Maybe you were right to no longer want to be my wife
Maybe you were right to leave me with nothing
Maybe you were right to leave my hands soaking,
Soaking and wet with tears
Maybe you were right to leave me with so many fears
And doubts, Will I ever love again?
Or will this become my end?
Maybe you were right
But I can’t forget with all my might
About the love we had and what could have been
Instead I’m left with a life full of sin
I’m longing to hold you again
To be controlled again
I say controlled, because you had my heart and so much more
But you left with it when you ran out the door
And into the arms of another
While leaving me to smother
On my empty existence
My one saving grace is my persistence
And I will survive….some how….
