Me Against The World Poem by Mrs Boots

Me Against The World

Rating: 5.0

People watching, People laughing,
People who are passing by.
People staring, people pointing
Actions unseen by most eyes.

But I see their scornful glances;
Pity burns within their face.
They see me as cannon fodder
For the gossip which they chase.

Always smiling, always joking;
Friends who want to be near me.
They think I don't know what they say
When their backs are turned from me.

I know every insult they make
Even though I'm not around.
Their mocking laughter fills my head;
Derisive, snide - They put me down.

Can't escape imagination -
Increasing panic; stress within.
Oh! But I could trust somebody;
It's not safe to let them in.

People looking, people laughing,
People who are passing by.
People staring, People pointing -
I know what's behind their eyes.
