Me And You Poem by Sarah Frederick

Me And You

I don't care what you say or think or do,
I'm still me and not you.
I'm who I say I am,
not who you say I am.
So shut your mouth,
And don't tell the lies that you've told your whole life.
This is ME, this isn't you.
I do blend with the darkness most days,
As I stay quiet and wear the colors shadows offer.
You wear the colors that rainbows hold,
As you prance around in your fake kingdom
Happiness is fake,
Love is always broken,
and Peace is never actually there, just an illusion of man.
I cannot live without some,
But I have proven I can survive without others.
You can live without anyone, apparently,
As you've so proven every day.
I don't care who you say you are or what you do to prove it,
Because all you are is a poser and liar
Who does nothing in the world but look at yourself and see what you can do to fix your nonfixable form.
Only thinking of yourself.
Only acting for what people tell you to do.
Only doing something that benefits you.
I don't care what I say or think or do,
You're still you and not me.
I may hate you,
But I will not try to change you.
I can only tell you what is right,
And hope that can correct you.
I don't care what I say or do to prove this,
Just know that it's true.
Along with the fact, the hard truth,
That me and you are opposites
And can never be the same.
Always remember:
Happiness is fake because it hides the sadness you hold within you. Love is always broken because someone can no longer stay with you or you can no longer stay with them, whether it be a shatter of a perfect relationship or death.
And Peace is never there because nobody can let their shattered heart go without rage and hurting someone else in the process, or can stand to hide behind happiness' fake smiles and laughter any longer and must unleash the sadness within.
