Sarah Frederick Poems

So, I sat down yesterday
With your picture in my hand...
She had just left,
The part of me that pretends it's all alright...
...

I don't care what you say or think or do,
I'm still me and not you.
I'm who I say I am,
not who you say I am.
...

All I can think of is you,
Of all the time we had with each other
Of everything we did
Of all the love we shared
...

Illusions
The mirage of a lake in the middle of a wasteland
Illusions
The smiles plastered on an abused face
...

Three ways to show you I love you
Is to tell you every chance I get
Is to hold you when you need me
Is to tell you what no one else can know
...

I live in a world where animals can talk
And where plants grow freely.

I live in a world where I can fly away from anything
...

7.

Love is not impossible.
Everyone has a partner chosen before they could walk.
Love is not fake.
It's always around, only available when you find the one truly yours.
...

What if I told you I loved you?
Would you catch me before I hit the floor?
What if I said I missed you?
Would you hatch a plan to surprise me?
...

As my lips quiver
And my tongue tastes the water of sorrow
I look at the letter you sent
I peer at your words
...

10.

This one is for the day you called me ugly
This one is for the guilt you give me
This is for the scars you left
These are for the hope you killed

Sarah Frederick Biography

My name is Sarah A. Frederick and I don't write many poems. I just try to find some inspiration that's good enough to find the words and make them flow. I usually write poems about the bad things in life, so my most repetitive line is probably 'Happiness is fake, Love is always broken, Peace is never there' because I'm not one of those people thats always happy. I'm only in High School, but I've seen too much. Yes, I'm kinda goth so that explains my poems. Anyway, I hope you guys like my poems :) and thanks for reading them, even if you didn't like them.)

Whatever You Said You Were

So, I sat down yesterday
With your picture in my hand...
She had just left,
The part of me that pretends it's all alright...
I sat at that window for hours...
Trying and trying to remember our good memories

But I failed, you see
What does that tell you?
Well, it has spoken ever so clearly to me
Stating things I should've known were true...
It says,
Whatever he claimed to be is a lie,
Whatever he said he'd do is fake!
Whatever he said he was...
Whatever you said you were was a myth!
A myth...
One I continued to believe so... happily
Why, oh why, wouldn't I ever listen,
To my family or my friends?

Have you ever heard that saying,
The one that says
They told me he'd break my heart...
But I didn't listen?

Yeah, that's what this feels like...
I wish I would've believed,
Long, long ago...
