Me, Not You Poem by Paul Reed

Me, Not You

I am me, not you

And I can see right through

The you that you say is you;

I am here to be judged

And the route I have trudged

Those things I don't begrudge;

At least I know it's all been me

Those mistakes were meant to be

Because they were mine, you see;

Not a hollow game of cheat

That ends in defeat

When yourself you meet;

I am me, not you

And when my time is due

To me I will have been true.
