Measly Bait Poem by John Sensele

Measly Bait

Indolence creeps, trips, snips and sniffs
One step, two steps and three steps
Into the mind of a labourer who picks up tiffs
With his supervisors who aims to reconfigure his ethics biceps.

Indolence bores, scores, snores and pores once, twice, thrice
Testing process, system and procedure waters in a firm's armour
Where indolence probes the urge to exact a high price
From deviants to prevent a deterioration of their work demeanour.

Indolence frolics in warm bedsheets
Where the head caresses eiderdown pillows
Swims on cloud nine of dream sheets
Ensconced with creature comforts that befriend willows.

Indolence standing akimbo
Saunters with a ladida gait
Intending to ensnare a heart in bimbo
Traps that dole out a measly bait.
