Meditation 3: Equity Poem by Kingsley Egbukole

Meditation 3: Equity

Rating: 5.0

How much of wealth is sufficient
To satiate the desires of man
And debar him from seeking for more?
Or does he keep amassing wealth
Till the end of his sojourn?
What is the measure of affluence
That cures the urge for more
And rest his heart in peace

Why also is the poor poor?
Is he the architect of his fortune
Or nature has consigned him his fate?

Why is there this great divide
Between the haves and have nots?
Can there ever be equity and fairness
In the distribution of wealth?
To give the poor a little prod
Up from the dungeon of squalor.
