Meditation...As I Lay Clutching You: - Poem by Meghan
I would lay clutching you
ice invading warmth
music spews into dust
particles of darkness
and that stale heat
clutching mass
I breathed till the tissue
would expand till the point of collapse
and I'd hold that pressure
against my heart
the pain almost crushing
bursting cells...alveoli
exploding
each breath more distant
and heavy than the last
I cast my soul into the atmosphere
and would retrieve it
with each inhalation
suspended in meditation
strike captured peaceful pleasure
that clung to us
the rhythm of such darkness and concentration
beat unto my world
as I lay clutching you
ice invading warmth
