Death Poem by Meghan

Death

the night descends unto me like the devil on a helpless soul
I feel it coming, slowly turning my blood cold
gripping it's claws tight round my body
never setting me free
a sharp pain followed by a flood of darkness
suffering forever in eternal blackness
this just can't be that my last shadow's been cast
that this instant breath shall be my last
my body and mind are sinking fast

a sunken ship, I lay on the barren ocean floor
a conveniant home for fish and various sea wanderers
six feet under in the perilous grave, I morph into the Earth
becoming a part of the world
that gave life to me and the worms
who live off my demise
after my curtains are closed and vacant are my eyes

there is no true heaven or hell in this universe
in this long lonely journey there is only rebirth
expired lives return to heavenly Mother Earth
being reborn as flowers, trees and dirt

my eternal blackness, this rich fertile soil,
suddenly becoming a comfort and defeating my toil
I have given more in my death than ever being alive on this land
I have helped grow mankind's food, put nutrients in creation's earthly hand

how gratifying, this beautiful return after elimination
it's the best thing in the world, oh wonderful liberation

good imagery, but i think your poems and whatever else you choose to do will be worth more than your dead body. like the humility though.
