Meeting At A Fest Poem by Alanna Flynn

Meeting At A Fest

Moving through an anxious crowd of many,
The sun shined down on that boy and his truck.
Thinking that he may like my company,
I danced close, hoping to leave him awestruck.
Our eyes finally met, as did our smiles.
But he seemed somewhat shy as he lay there.
In the back round, the Dead played for a while.
A hazy cloud, then a breath of fresh air.
Finally, he mouthed a single, sweet phrase.
“Hi, I’ll find you inside, ” was all he said.
He drove away, as I sat in a daze.
I knew to think with my heart, not my head.
Our weekend was lustful, with little rest :)
Just a simple boy, I met at a fest.
