Meeting Of Lir Poem by Daniel McDonagh

Meeting Of Lir

“I know not of this Saviour that you speak of
But I have heard his name travel in the wind,
The ocean birds sang of his arrival
While a star shone in the sky of Bethlehem.
Scholars have traveled the seven oceans
Teaching his wisdom to those who will listen,
But you, young Neir, will find a blessing
That was brought to these shores by St.Brendan.”
