Megalomaniac Leader. Poem by Himanshu Dada

Megalomaniac Leader.

Rating: 4.5

Corruption at its peak,
Disillusion making mind weak,
Emperor suffering from Megalomania,
People suffering from dementia,
Kings making false god,
People feeling disillusioned,
Hunger and suffering is at large,
Still donations made to church,
Democracy is a illusion,
saying sharing power is solution,
Stills wars are at large,
Still people living at marge,
Marge of sword they have to live,
pretend with happy smile they give,
world's ruler gather at Paris,
They discuss peace with booze and chalice,
In the name of god they swear,
For Syria and Iraq they pretend to care,
mother earth is being fumed,
With guns and bombs they ruled,
They say we living in modern times,
Still illusion of melodious chimes,
Earthquake, floods talk of day,
Bodies of children drown at bay,
War are no good to mankind,
In wars human are butchered and chined.

An insightful depiction of megalomaniac leaders whose stock in trade are: exhibition of strength with brutality, courage with recklessness, compassion with sentimentality among others. A well articulated piece of poetry nicely penned in good rhyme scheme with conviction. Thanks for sharing Himanshu. Please read my poem MANDELA - THE IMMORTAL ICON.
