Melancholy Of A Weeping Willow Poem by Deepthi Vincent

Melancholy Of A Weeping Willow

Betrayed and killed mercilessly
I was dragged to a swamp
Buried under a weeping willow
I was left there alone, to rot

Helpless and in pain, I lie
My restless spirit aching for life
All my attempts in vain, I've to go
Death casting its gloomy shadow

A mountain breeze blew gently
The weeping willow swayed
Her lovely foliage flowing, like
The disheveled hair of a mourner

The song of a nightingale
Echoed through the deep woods
A heartfelt gratitude to thee, for
Singing the grief of my muted soul

In the darkness of a snowy night
I'll come back, as a lingering weep
As the flutter of a lone butterfly
Or the sweetness of a wild lily

With a silent desire for love
To embrace an unfulfilled dream
I'll return to this shore, once again
To relieve the anguish of a lost life
