Melany's Music Bag Poem by Patrick Akhudu

Melany's Music Bag

In this quiet backstreet,
I met a title boldly sweet,
Skilfully crafted - so nice,
It caught my calm eyes.

Here's Melany's Music Bag -
Had a polite price tag.
Melany? What a name!
Did it fail to fan her fame?

She made music perhaps
With bagpipes and harps
And hid this hits in there;
Timeless treats truly rare.

A bag with secret treasure;
Songs of joy and pleasure.
But why music in this bag
Without a mouth to brag?

Gone was the epilogue,
Hence this monologue.
But I'll crack this mystery
From the title and history.

So she was a songwright -
My guess was just right!
Oh, she couldn't sing a thing,
But had wind beneath her wing.

Poor Melany and her bag!
Her days seemed to drag.
She died undiscovered;
Her song-bag was recovered.

Someday I know I'll find it—
This songful bag of wit
With rare, rapturous rhapsody. I will give each song a melody.
