My Doll Poem by Patrick Akhudu

My Doll

Look at my darling doll;
I bought her at the mall.
Do you think she's small?
She's the height of a ball.

Look at her golden hair,
Look at her face - so fair!
I guess it gets good care,
Unlike your old teddybear!

My doll does not talk,
Nor try to take a walk.
She just lies in her frock,
In silence that can choke!

I prefer her in a short skirt,
And this soft silky T-shirt
That dutifully defies dirt.
She could grace a concert!

She wears white shoes
That she cannot choose.
And they're quite loose,
And often slip off - no use!

I adore her big blue eyes.
Do they tear when she cries?
Do they tell it when she lies?
They're as happy as sunrise!
