Melody Of My Soul Poem by Suraj Motiwala

Melody Of My Soul

Feelings have mounted high,
And this hand begs to write.
My impatient fingers shiver with the pen,
while my tongue begins to set itself alight.

Seated on the chair, with these fast pacing beats in me.
Well aware of my ignorance in befittingly knowing Thee,
Yet, I have to write, For today I must to set these feelings free.

Utterances remain mute and logic will confute,
From the mysteries penned and told nothing can ever unfold as how Thy love makes death a dire desire.
As how.. a cupful of Thy remembrance chills this heart of it's blazing fire!

If Thy mercy wouldn't smile at my ignorance O my God,
If Thy pity wouldn't cast a pitiful glance,
If the Ocean of Thy forgiveness would refuse me a drop.
my own hands would have lacerated my throat, my own destiny would turn against me, my every limb and every step would exert efforts to crush me..

Hear my cry O my Beloved, hear my plea,
Let not my outward eyes veil what the inner ones see,
Let not knowledge make me ignorant.
Let not humbleness turn into my own bait,
Let me not close my eyes and effectuate my own ill fate.
Let not power make me weak,
Help me, help me attain what I longingly seek!

Indeed Myriad are stages, valleys away my goal.
Failures pull down my hopes but won't dishearten my soul.
Since Your gaze is fixed to behold my flight, I will strive O my Lord, to return Home, unsullied, to the Kingdom of Light!
