Melting Memories Poem by David Rohlf

Melting Memories

Finding the memories from your hated crumbled past,
asking why it happened and how it didn't last.
Fumbling through the pictures of tears and selfish lies,
as the hate builds up inside you, and your tearful eyes.

Meeting each others lips, falling for the first time,
blinded by his lies and deceiving sinful eyes.
Dreaming of the future of what you both could bring,
to bad you didn't know what would come to be.

Crying in your pillow, cursing and yelling his name,
trying to find a cure, to cover up the pain.
You turn to see just one last time that face that you once loved,
the creature that builds inside you prays it's last hope from above.

Trying to put the pieces back of your torn and burnt down life,
saying 'He was everything' as you put down that bloody knife.
Realizing what he has done to you, you stand up strong and high,
walking away from that burning trash cash, as you whisper 'Goodbye'.
