Memoirs Poem by Catherine Lindsey

Memoirs

I have been a flower
picked and held until it died,
and I have been a moon beam
shining in the night.
See how I shine...

I have been the grains of sand
falling through the hands of time,
and I have been the dancer
caught up in rhythm and rhyme.
See how I shine...

I have been an Earth bound Soul
with guidance from within,
I have been a butterfly
gaining ground against the wind.
See how I shine...

I have stood and I have weeped
at grave sites of the lost,
I've been mild and I've been meek
never imagining the cost.
See how I shine...

I have been a poetess
built grand and glorious dreams,
I have been against all odds
and other chancy things.
See how I shine...

I am here, and I am there,
I have become as air,
look around and you may see
traces of me everywhere.
See how I shine...
