As time dallied,
everything changed
but you were the only one,
who remained the same
As heavy black clouds,
overcasted the sky
but there was still the same sparkle
that shines in your eyes
Very soon it began to rain
The first rain of the year
accompanied by thunder and lightening
but discern what i hear....
Its the sob of a crying person
very blurred and vague
when i went closer to the sound
I was confounded as it was strange
Yes, it was the sobs of a true friend
whom i had left miles ago
with whom i had intimate affection
but i never let it go
Right from the kindergarten, strange to each other
we met in the playground
played with same sand, made the same castle
and never bothered anyone around
This dynamic world
was the reason of my change
but indignantly
he were the same
The same friend who was years ago
who used to tease me and play pranks on me
the same friend with whom i had spent my golden past
making our day full of giggles and laugh
gradually, he started liking me
his heart craved for me
his eyes yearned for my glimpse
and day by day his love grown for me
Finally, with tremendous effort of will
A day came when he proposed me
The long twilight faded into night
and the dim light of the moon
shone through fleecy clouds
casting over the street a pale light
Unfortunately i broke his heart
and his effort went futile
he was left forsaken
as i evaded his feelings from mine
I had a lump in my throat
and a tinge of remorse in my heart
which was making me to wail hysterically
but i never allowed it to overpower
Now after so many years
That same feeling
is growing strong into me
his each and every adorable words
is making to fall down on my knee
Instantly, i stopped and
retraced my steps back
for i was perplexed to find
the same friend hoping me to come back
Tears rolled down my cheeks
as i ran down the street
embracing him tight
in the shining moon light
