Memories Poem by Sam Byron

Memories

At night
I lay
And wonder
If it’s me
Your dreaming
of.

Sure
I think about
You now and again
But that
Was then
And
We have long since,
Gone our
Separate ways.

So
When you
Cross my mind
I try not
To think about
What
Might have been

For
That was
Then.

We can’t
Go back
Again
There is no use
On giving in
It’s been
Much
To long,
There’s
No way to know
What we could
Have had

All
These
Nights
Of
Pressuring
And pointless
Thoughts

Are
Seeming to
Get me nowhere
Other than
Here
Reliving
All my
Pointless

memories

Those memories are like a chain around our neck
