Memories Poem by Isayah Ezra Kuhlmann

Memories

When all is said and done

Am I complete once again

Will you submit into me

Or will I submit into you

What chance of survival do I have

What chance of change is there

Will I get out of this paradox

Or will I be swallowed up in it

Will I escape with my life or without you

Is escaping death without you death itself, or am I already dead

Am I already swallowed in the sea of love and pain

or am I just swallowed within you

This is my trip to memories left undone and still in time itself

In the end it doesn't really matter

Cause what is done cannot be undone

What's left is now treasured like gold

If I have you by my side then be it so

If not I'll walk once again

To a place unknown and obsolete to you and I

Follow if you will and rediscover what was lost

Otherwise drift into oblivion where we'll meet one day

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This poem is very personal to me, it represents all my past relationships, rejections, heart break, and sums it up in one ball. It describes my feelings towards the woman placed within the poem, telling her that I'm lost between worlds, searching for someone and fighting off those who mean harm. This poem also speaks about fate henceforth - 'Follow if you will and rediscover what was lost otherwise drift into oblivion where we'll meet one day' This represents that one day, if we're lost, if it was meant to be we will be reunited. This poem is deep and meaningful within my eyes, due to it being personal, it can however be transferable to someone going through the same situation.
