Memories Cannot Be Forgotten Poem by Doris Cornago

Memories Cannot Be Forgotten

Rating: 4.0

Our loved ones live

in our memories

And when they depart

our memories start

to unwind, to remind

times full of pain

times without rain...

If you doubt this

take out my heart

mind stops working

body ceases function

everything declines

whisper of the wind

ceases to cool the mind...

The rising coolness

fails to touch the skin

as memories start

to unwind, to remind

laughter insane

losses and gain

a gentle boy gone...

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Nothing hurts so much than for a mother to be torn from her child. This happens everyday, and nobody can know the pain but a mother. Having undergone that pain, a mother relates this feeling to the one she is undergoing now. Could the two experiences - losing a child and almost losing a friend - be of similar origin? The words of the guru 'memories cannot be forgotten' makes her write this poem.
