The dreamy part of boydhood
Forgotten by who & who could?
Later part of 1975
The place was Central Co-oprative Bank, Dewaanpara, on the bank of River Brahmaputra! Father was transferred to Jamalpur Subdivision as Subdivisional Co-operative Officer!
My first Town Life Began!
Me & my Younger brother Shahidul Islam
Got admitted into Jamalpur New High School, Mia para
Rafiqul Islam, My elder who was serially 4th got admitted into Ashiq Mahmood College!
I stood First from class 5 to 6!
Araati didi, Moyen Sir, Join Sir, Aziz Sir all were my favorite!
Only a few years as if 100 years!
As if it was yesterday!
Uh! Cinema of Kotha-koli Hall!
Niraala Hall!
Taka 5 was Dresscircle Class seat!
Uh my golden days!
Only a few years as if knew no rest!
A small Town though it was, but why so attractive!
My soul still seeks!
The Old River!
The Village Pathalia!
The Jail Khana Road!
The Hospital Road!
The Vegetables of the Farm!
The Exhibition in the Stadium!
The Putul Nach!
The song...& the pass of free Entrance for Abba's sake!
Huh the days!
All were tasteful!
Now all are messy hazy crazy!
One day I Defeated Tikki Babu in a wrestle!
This tikki was a Great rascal!
He always bully, chase, dash or follow us to scold, harass & so on!
From that day his Heroism decreased & he couldn't harass us any longer!
Why tikki did so still i don't know! His misbehavior.. Whatever it is...! !
Sometimes fighting with Shunder potti with the Town people!
All were matter to gossip in those days!
The cinema Bahadur & the Hero Waasim!
That inspired us to make Sword with ispaat sheet from the fence of the Bank Colony!
We made hanger with the Aluminum wire kept inside the Bank!
The Police barrack at the other side of the Bank!
The big Mango tree of our Tin-shed!
Huge mango we got from it!
& who passed the Road to the North or South of Dewaanpara were all attracted by the big Fazli mango!
& there were more mangoes to the other part of the house!
The EO's house has two more mango trees!
When mango rope & the bats dropped half ripen
I was a master to pick as if my Ear was always sharp to it!
Uh haa the days!
There were pigeons under the roof of the Bank!
Sometimes i used to explore to catch the chick but never was able!
& you know there was a Bindhu vai!
swapon dah!
Shunu dah!
And Lion, Munnah, Masum all were so dear!
The Chowdhury were good friends of Relis vai!
Uh the days!
A few years’ uncountable dears!
The Iron ring I took as playing wheel & with the wheel I went to the rail line!
With a big mind as if i got mine of gold to those age!
From morning to the evening, if Abba was absent
Then the whole day was a medal of gold or a golden chain!
Enaamul of pathalia was my favourite!
He saved me from many threats!
Uh haa the days!
Though there was economic constrain but full of life-living!
One day Shaheed caught two big Bailah mach(fish) !
Oh! That day he got a chance!
We used to swim in the old Brham-maputra a few step from the Colony!
During the afternoon we used to visit the sandy char area to the North!
We enjoyed seeing the watermelon cultivation there!
Hei! i forgot to say about the Town Hall adjacent to the bank of the river!
After the Hospital there was a MAZAR SHAREEF of Hazrat Shah Jamal Rta!
How can I forget Dewaan para of Jamalpur City Corporation!
A town in my Heart!
